Day 10: Pakistan

I know I am only one of many who are intrigued, captivated, and inspired by the story of Malala, but while I don't have anything new to add to the conversation, I do want to take some time to pray for her, for the many girls seeking to gain education, and for the entire nation of Pakistan.

In recent history, the nation of Pakistan has persevered through times of military rule, political instability, and conflicts with India over land. The people of Pakistan, particularly women, endure the absence of many freedoms we take for granted, such as that of education, the cause Malala is championing. According to the Joshua Project, Pakistan is home to hundreds of different ethnic people groups, and the majority of these groups are unreached, meaning under 2% of the population are believers in Christ.

As we've seen so many times already during the first 10 days of this challenge, there are many issues to pray for, yet we see change stirring. The Lord never ceases to work!

Father God, we praise you for the work You are doing in Pakistan, that which we can see and that which we cannot. We praise You for Your faithfulness. We ask that You would break the chains of oppression...that imposed by the government and by poverty and by whatever forces we are unaware of. We thank You for the courage of people like Malala who are seeking freedom through peace. We ask that You would show us how to love each of the people groups present in Pakistan, and reveal Your Truth to them. We praise You for the power of the gospel, and ask that it would be shown mightily. Amen
